Bruce set out for Florida to escape the cold New York winter, spend time with his brother, and enjoy some much-needed sunshine. But just 12 hours into his trip, everything changed.
He was suddenly admitted to the ICU with a severe blood infection that has caused significant damage to his heart. What was meant to be a peaceful getaway quickly became a life-threatening medical emergency.
Bruce is a retired NYPD officer who has spent his life showing up for others. He is not someone who ever asks for help, and even putting this out there is something that does not come easy.
He is a devoted father, a proud “Pop Pop,” a loving brother, a cherished friend, and a father-in-law who means so much to his family. His daughters love him beyond words and are doing everything they can to make sure he is cared for and supported during this incredibly difficult time.
In order to bring Bruce home safely, specialized medical transportation is needed, along with ongoing care and support once he returns. The financial burden of this is overwhelming, and the family could truly use the support of their community.
If you are able to contribute, any amount will go directly toward getting Bruce home and ensuring he receives the care he needs moving forward. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and for keeping Bruce and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
