Hello, my name is Josanne McAfee and I am reaching out on behalf of my husband Bruce McAfee.

In 2019 Bruce was diagnosed with Stage 3 Squamous cell Carcinoma Cancer. To save his life Doctors removed a golf ball size tumor from his mouth, along with his entire lower jaw, all his lower teeth and his right cheek. Bone was taken from his leg to rebuild a lower jaw, and skin graphs were taken from his thigh to rebuild his face and inside of his mouth.

He underwent 33 rounds of radiation, which caused significant further damage. His remaining upper teeth were damaged by the radiation and the bone used for his new jaw was weakened, making implants a complex and delicate procedure.

After years of painful surgeries, infections and complications Bruce is finally ready for implants. But because of the extreme re-construction he has undergone, this procedure must be done by a specialist- and that comes at a significant cost.

Unfortunately Medicare doesn’t cover this, he has been denied Advantage and Supplemental Health Plans. We have no insurance support to help us with this.
