Bruce is a five-year-old Shih Tzu mix who has become a true member of my family. I was lucky to take him in a year ago, after he had been passed from home to home, never really having a place to call his own. When Bruce came into my life, I promised to give him the stability and love he deserves. Now, I’m facing a situation that makes me worry I might not be able to keep that promise.
Bruce has been struggling with serious dental issues. His gums are inflamed, his teeth are covered in calculus and are starting to rot, and he has an abscess that’s causing him a lot of pain. His breath is very bad, and he breathes heavily and coughs every day, which I believe is because of his dental problems. I’ve taken him to several veterinarians, but the cost of the care he needs is more than I can afford, especially since I am currently unemployed. I hate seeing Bruce in pain and feeling helpless to do more for him.
Getting Bruce the dental care he needs would mean everything to both of us. It would relieve his pain, help him sleep better, and let him be the happy, playful dog he’s meant to be. Most importantly, it would allow me to keep him as part of my family, where he finally has a home. Any support will go directly toward Bruce’s dental treatments and recovery, giving him the chance to live comfortably and pain-free.
