Help Brooks Get Lifesaving Care

This Is Brooks. He Needs Us.

On March 20, 2026, Brooks Louis Post was born two weeks ahead of schedule. His mom, Halle, who I work with at Grapevine Communications, and his dad, Brandon, watched as Brooks entered this world facing challenges no newborn should have to endure.

With the exception of two weeks, Brooks has spent his life hospitalized.

Brooks was immediately admitted to the NICU, where doctors believed he was battling back-to-back pneumonias. After three and a half weeks, Brooks was able to go home. His family hoped they could begin life together. But after just two short weeks, it became clear something still wasn't right.

Weeks followed with trips in and out of doctors' offices and multiple hospital admissions. Every visit meant more tests, more procedures, more waiting and ultimately the same answer: "He's fine." But Halle knew her son wasn't fine, and she refused to stop searching for answers. Finally, an outpatient Pediatric Pulmonologist took one look at Brooks' CT scan and immediately knew something wasn't right.

Now, Brooks is in the ICU and has been diagnosed with ABCA3 Surfactant Deficiency, an extremely rare genetic lung condition that falls under Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD). His lungs cannot produce the proper substance that helps keep the tiny air sacs in the lungs open, preventing them from functioning properly. His family has been told there is no cure, and Brooks will need to undergo continuous treatments to keep him stable. He will eventually need to be placed on the lung transplant list, and he is being transferred to Cincinnati Children's Hospital for specialized care.

The road ahead is uncertain. Medical expenses are already overwhelming, with many more expected as Brooks continues to receive the care he needs.

We have created this fundraiser to help Brandon and Halle focus on what matters most, fighting for Brooks and giving him every possible chance of a healthy future.

Donate, share Brooks’ story, or simply keep him and his family in your thoughts or prayers. Your support means more than words can express.

Brooks has already faced more than any baby should. Help us support him and his family on this journey ahead.
