My best friend, Brooklynn Welker, is facing one of the hardest moments of her life. She had to have an emergency C-section after discovering that her baby girl, Lilah, was born with a serious congenital heart defect called TGA (Transposition of the Great Arteries) — a condition where the two main arteries leaving the heart are switched.

Because of this, Lilah’s body wasn’t getting enough oxygen, and she needed immediate open-heart surgery and still has to have another surgery after birth. She is currently being cared for by specialists at Children’s Hospital, where she’s fighting hard to recover.

Brooklynn is currently still being hospitalized due to complications following giving birth.

This has been an incredibly emotional and overwhelming time for Brooklynn and her family. Between long hospital stays, medical costs, and time away from work, the financial strain has grown significantly.
