Help Brooklynn Battle Severe PTSD
Donation protected
My daughter was diagnosed with PTSD and general anxiety when she was 12 due to traumatic events that occurred as a result of her biological father. She is 19 now.
We've worked with doctors over the years trying to manage her PTSD, and even looked for other methods that could possibly cure her through healing. She's undergone LENS brain therapy, holistic methods, and she's currently on medication to treat the PTSD and anxiety, but it seems to come with more symptoms than it's helping.
Her mental health right now is severely declining, and she's experiencing physical decline as well. Her stress levels have been so high that she started pulling her eyelashes out; she's lost weight, has massive pressure in her head, migraines, and can not focus on the simplest of tasks or concentrate on homework. She had to recently quit her job because her performance declined so much that she couldn't function at work. She may have to take leave from her college classes until she is able to focus properly.
He physical condition has declined to the point she thought she had a tumor. She went to the hospital where she was given bloodwork, CT scan, thyroid tests, the whole works. All of which came up negative. Her doctor and psychiatrist have indicated that her body is just shutting down because her mental illness has caused such havoc to her nervous system that she's completely unregulated.
It's been recommended that Brooklynn go to a Florida treatment center to undergo the same treatment that soldiers go through for PTSD. Not only will she be treated for the trauma she experienced, but she will learn how to manage her life afterward. Her nervous system does not know that she is not at war.
My insurance does not fully cover the treatment. In order for my insurance to cover its portion, I have out-of-pocket costs of $6,000. $1500 of which is the insurance deductible. It has to be paid upfront before they will see her. The rest can be paid in payments.
I am also looking at other holistic options for treatment, including TMS and Ketamine, but these are not covered at all with insurance.
I'm asking for help so that I can get the treatment to get my daughter's health under control and have her nervous system regulated. This program allows my daughter to undergo the therapy needed to heal the trauma and remove the symptoms.
Thank you so much.
