Help Brooklyn Tech NSBE Jr. Reach National Convention
Donation protected
We are the Brooklyn Technical High School chapter of NSBE Jr. (National Society of Black Engineers), a passionate group of high school students pursuing STEM careers through hands-on projects and mentorship. Together, we aim to inspire our peers and make a positive impact in our community.
Some programs and events we have run in the past include:
Drone Cadets, where students were taught drone safety protocols before learning to fly their drones. At the end of the course, they had the opportunity to take an exam to earn their federal drone license, equipping them with the credentials needed to operate drones responsibly and legally.
Boat Regatta, an annual event where students are challenged to design and build a boat using only cardboard and tape, with the goal of creating a sturdy vessel that can navigate across the pool and back.
Professionalism Week, where we helped students set up their LinkedIn accounts and create descriptive profiles, invited professionals from a range of STEM fields to share their journeys, and hosted a workshop aimed at teaching students techniques for achieving hairstyles that convey confidence and professionalism.
Right now, we need your support to further our mission of increasing the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.
We are excited to attend the National Convention in Chicago, Illinois, from March 5th to 9th. This event promises invaluable learning experiences and networking opportunities that will significantly benefit our members.
To make this possible, we need to raise $10,000 to cover travel, lodging, and registration fees for various STEM competitions. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help us reach our goal and allow us to gain the insights and skills offered at the convention.
Thank you for your support in helping us make a difference!
