Hey everyone!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my GoFundMe! I’m Brooklyn Cheer and I am incredibly excited to have been selected to represent Canada on the national U24 women’s ultimate frisbee team! Representing Canada and playing the sport I love at this level is an honour and a dream come true. This year, we’ll be travelling between Vancouver and Ottawa for training camps and then flying to Logroño, Spain to compete in the 2025 World U24 Ultimate Championships in June.

A little bit about me…

I’ve grown up in Ottawa, Ontario with my parents and three siblings, and I’m currently in my first year studying Kinesiology at McMaster University. I’ve been a competitive athlete since age nine, competing in gymnastics for six years before beginning ultimate in 2018. Since then, I’ve poured my heart and soul into this sport to get to where I am. I’ve competed at five Canadian national championships and two U20 world junior ultimate championships; this year I have the chance to play at one of the highest levels possible on the U24 world stage.

Why I need your support:

Competitive sports at this level are incredibly expensive and with a family of six, I do my best to take on as many of these costs as I can. I’ve worked part time for the past five years and have been able to cover most team and training fees myself. However, this year the demands of university expenses have made it impossible to do this on my own. In addition to the $3100 team fees for this season, I also need to cover flights to both Vancouver and Spain, as well as accommodations, meals, and training.
