Help Brooklyn Fight Rare Eye Cancer
Donation protected
After over a month of treatment and thousands of dollars Brooklyns condition and prognosis is still unclear at best. None of it has been covered under his insurance and he requires a lot more testing. One test alone is 1500 dollars. This started as what we thought was an eye infection but now seems likley to be a rare eye cancer. With a biopsy and the removal of his eyes the hope is that I can give him many more years of a happy healthy life but the fees will be astronomical and we could really use your help. These pictures show the current state of his eyes after almost a month of treatment on 5 different medications. Each medication is upward of 75 dollars and only lasts about 10 days before refills are needed. He requires a specialist which has a base fee of 425 dollars just to walk in the door and be seen. Thankfully his medical team is amazing, competent and kind. To even have the biopsy and proceed with cancer treatment his eyes need to heal more which means more office visits, tests and medications. The improvement in his eyes has been remarkable but we have a long way to go.
If you know me, you know what Brooklyn means to me and that I would sell a kidney if it meant saving him. At this point there is a race to get him healed enough to have his eye(s) removed and stop the spread of cancer. He also has developed terrible stomach issues, likley from the medications but that requires a whole other panel of testing and treatment. It is horrible to see him suffering. He is my whole heart and at age 8 I need to do everything I can to save him so I'm asking you to share this far and wide and help this little nugget get back to himself. We both thank you so much for your time and well wishes. I will send periodic updates as we continue on what I hope will be his healing journey.
