Help Brooke's Family Save Flash's Life

Donation protected
Meet Flash, a lively 8 week old cuddly puppy who bounded into Brooke’s family on 4/27 with wagging tail and boundless joy, instantly becoming her son’s best friend. Brooke, a devoted mom, surprised her husband and their only child, a sweet boy who’s dreamed of a dog his whole life, with Flash to make their family complete. The moment Flash snuggled into their arms, their home filled with laughter and love. However, 27 hours later during the puppy wellness check and over the next 4 days their happiness shattered.
During the wellness check required by the breeder, Flash began foaming at the mouth and stopped breathing, collapsing in a terrifying moment. The vet stabilized him and two days later another episode struck—right in front of Brooke’s son. The trauma left him heartbroken, clinging to his furry friend. Flash was rushed to the emergency hospital and tests at the hospital revealed Flash has Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS) and an elongated palate, conditions that cause pressure in his esophagus, leading to regurgitation and life-threatening breathing struggles.
The breeder, shockingly refused to take Flash back. Despite the devastating news, Brooke’s family couldn’t imagine life without Flash. In the short time they’ve had him, he’s become their heart—chasing balls, puppy kisses, cuddling on the couch, and bringing smiles through every wag. They’re fighting to save him, but the costs are staggering: $1000 for his puppy wellness where the first event happened, on May 1st $3000 for his initial hospital stay in critical care and hundreds monthly for medication, and a critical $5,000-$8,000 estimated surgery when he’s six months old. Flash was also diagnosed with Bordatella and Mycoplasma cynos on May 2nd when his respiratory test results came in. Treatment is TBD due to his current 5 medication regimen and is an added cost once treatment is in effect. Brooke and her family are pouring everything into Flash’s care, but the financial burden is overwhelming. They’re determined to give him the chance to grow up healthy, to keep running, playing, and being the loyal companion they adore. Your support can make all the difference. Every dollar you donate will go directly to Flash’s treatment and care (i.e, any emergency and vet care he may need before surgery, medications, surgery at 6months of age, any surgical recovery and medical cost already accumulated) and helping him breathe easier and live the full, happy life he deserves. Please, if you can, contribute today to help keep Flash in the arms of the family who loves him dearly. Any amount helps, and sharing this story could reach someone who could really make an impact and miracle happen for Flash. Donate now to help Flash and his family!
