Meet Brooke-Lyn Winchester! Brooke-Lyn is a high school senior who has recently been named to the PEI Canada Games Wrestling Team!
Brooke-Lyn tried wrestling in junior high and quickly developed a love for the sport. Over the last 4 years, she has worked hard to progress, overcoming many challenges. As she has progressed through school, her commitment to wrestling has been evident as she juggled practice, tournaments, schoolwork, and other extracurricular activities.
Three times a week, you will find Brooke-Lyn in the car heading to practice an hour away, trying to do schoolwork on her lap on the way to and from practice, traveling for tournaments on weekends, and working out every day at 5:00 AM.
When she’s not wrestling, you will find Brooke-Lyn as a leader in cadets (Master Warrant Officer), on the school basketball team, in the school concert band, in the school R&B band, and spending time with friends… when she has time! During the summer, Brooke-Lyn is a supervisor at a summer camp and plans to pursue post-secondary studies in the fall.
Brooke-Lyn has won many medals in her pursuit of wrestling, including a bronze, silver, and a silver medal at the 2024 Atlantics, as well as 4 gold medals in 2025!
Being named to the Canada Games Team is an honor, but it comes with more training and travel, including a trip to Nationals in Alberta in late April. That said, Brooke-Lyn is looking for help to cover her travel expenses to Nationals, other upcoming tournaments, and additional training to hone her skills before the Canada Games. Can you help this young lady continue on her journey? Every bit helps!
