Hello everyone. This is my beautiful sister, Brooke McMurrin. She’s in need of a heart transplant. In November of 2021 my sister was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Doctors believe it was the result of a viral infection. (Aka covid or the covid vaccine). She had both shortly before her diagnosis. She had a pacemaker with an icd (Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator) placed in May of 2022. Since that time she has had countless trips to the cardiac unit at The University of Utah Hospital. The most recent trip to the hospital confirmed that her heart is only functioning at 18%. She will die without a heart transplant. At her hospital follow up appointment they decided she needs to be readmitted as an inpatient full time. She will then be life flighted to one of the Mayo Clinic’s (Rochester, MN, Jacksonville, FL, or Phoenix, AZ). Where she’ll stay until she gets a new heart. We are devastated with the news, as you can imagine. There really are no words. This has already been an extremely expensive journey and she’s just getting started on the next one. Her and our family would greatly appreciate any and all help, with medical bills, traveling expenses, household bills, dinners, prayers, etc. Her sweetheart, Pete, has already exhausted all of his paid time off. Any additional time he misses to be with her in the hospital will be unpaid. If you can help, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Please feel free to share and send ALL the prayers.
