Brooke’s Battle With Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

   My daughter Brooke was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma and has undergone severe heart surgery due to the effects of the masses in her lung growing rapidly. Not only is the testing process invasive she’s needed to receive a pericardial effusion on multiple occasions so necessary that if ignored, there’s potential she wouldn’t still be with us.

 

   Last year Brooke and her family lived less than five miles from a 600,000 acre wildfire; one of Southern Oregon’s largest ever. Oncology Specialist believe this may have played a role in her rapid health decline. 

Brooke and her family have since moved three times in the last 18 months; each time closer to the medical care providers she so desperately needs.

 

   She’s now undergoing chemotherapy and bone marrow treatments, causing her to miss out on work and various career opportunities. To receive proper care, at times, Brooke has had to travel to an oncologist over 70 miles away.

 

With a rising cost of living and a lack of childcare, her household's ability to work has been limited to a part-time situation.

 

A contribution of any amount will go towards travel costs, living expenses and In-home care for her and her two children.
