Dear Friends and Family and Supporters,
Since I have had to pause my schooling due to financial and physical hardship we have had another need come up that has taken precedence over schooling for the time being.
My family and I are very grateful for all of the support and prayers as we are currently on the hunt for a new to us wheelchair accessible vehicle.
This will greatly benefit impact my quality of life and definitely help lessen my back pain because my amazing husband will not have to constantly lift me in and out of our current non accessible minivan which is still running, praise God but has signs of needing to be replaced as soon as possible with close to 300,000 miles on it. It has definitely served us well over the years but it is time to get a wheelchair accessible vehicle again.
This will greatly improve both my and my husband’s long term health and give me a greater sense of comfort, safety and independence because I will be able to have family and friends also be able to help transport me when needed. (Currently my husband is the only person who is able to physically lift me in and out of our current vehicle with the least amount of pain.)
We are currently in the research phase of looking for a new to us used wheelchair accessible vehicle that is going to be the best for us.
A modified wheelchair van can range anywhere from $15,000-$50,000 depending on the year, make and model.
We have decided to prayerfully reach out to our community to help fundraise for this need and we thank you for taking the time to read the latest updates and supporting us in this new endeavor. (We decided that it was best to just edit the original fundraiser rather than creating a brand new one.)
Again, we want to just say thank you for partnering with us in prayer, giving and support.
Please share with your friends and family and community as you feel led.
Blessings to you,
The Shelton Family
