Help Brooke Replace Stolen Catalytic Converter

Hello dear friends and family <3

As most of you know, in February of 2020 I packed my clothes, records and dog into my Toyota Prius & moved to LA. I knew it would be tough and I knew it would be lonely. Then the pandemic hit; the challenge of becoming established in my new city grew significantly, the lockdown seemed never-ending.

Recently things here have been looking up. California has finally re-opened and I've been getting hired for interesting jobs and making contacts. I thought I was on the slow and steady path to financial recovery.

Thursday night when I got in my car to drive home I was stunned and devastated to find that thieves stole my catalytic converter. It's loud, dangerous and illegal to drive without one so until I can replace it I am without safe and reliable means of transportation. It will set me back $2,900 for the part and labor and I also need to install a protective shield under the car for $415 to prevent future theft.

Having a bit of sticker shock? Me too!!! California state law makes this repair/replacement more costly than elsewhere in the country.

I urgently need transportation. Any support you give will help me get back on the road, make it to my jobs and thus keep a roof over my head. Thank you so so so much for reading, giving or sharing.
