In July 2021, Brooke Kamai was diagnosed with an inoperable glioblastoma in her spinal column. She is receiving excellent care at The James in Columbus, Ohio – but she has a long road of difficult treatments ahead of her. Please help us support Brooke, as well as her husband Cole and their 11 year old son Collin, through this incredibly challenging time.
Anyone who knows Brooke can attest to the fact that she is one of the strongest people in the world (and possibly the most sarcastic, with the best nails). When she was 7, she was diagnosed with a neuroblastoma in her spine. As if overcoming that as a child wasn’t enough, she has since battled Hodgkin’s lymphoma twice, at age 27 and age 29 – and won both times. Then recently, she tripped over her dog, lost her ability to walk... and advocated tirelessly for herself until she finally found the right doctors to help her. She’s now facing cancer for the fourth time in her life, just shy of turning 35. The only thing more admirable than her strength through all of this has been her incredible positive attitude. She takes things head-on, with an assurance that the best outcome will be hers. She has so many people in her life who love and support her, and often we find ourselves drawing on her strength and positivity – but right now, we need to rally together to support her through this fight.
Brooke is facing several months of intense treatment, all of which will be in Columbus, starting right away. This will require many trips back and forth for her and her family, extended hotel stays, and extensive medical bills… all on top of the normal expenses of a family trying to feed an insatiable 6th grade boy. We are all sad, angry, frustrated, hopeful, prayerful and READY to do whatever we have to do to help Brooke through this. We sincerely appreciate the contribution of any amount to help the Kamai family through this awful time – and, just as importantly, please send continuous prayers for all of them as well.
Brooke: We love you. We are fighting with you. And we will always, always be here for you.
