On June 21st, we brought home the tiniest bundle of love—Bronx. We fell in love with him instantly. From day one, he was the sweetest little soul—he loved to cuddle on our chests, listen to our voices, and curl up just to smell us. We could feel him bonding with us just as deeply as we had with him.

At first, Bronx slept a lot and didn’t have a big appetite, which we assumed was normal puppy behavior. But by the sixth day of having him, things took a scary turn. He became extremely lethargic, started vomiting, had diarrhea, and could barely stay awake.

As a worried pup mom, I knew something was wrong. On the morning of June 28th, I called a vet and rushed him in. That visit shattered our hearts. We learned Bronx was anemic, and his bloodwork showed dangerously low levels across the board. His condition was labeled emergent, and I sat there crying as they arranged for him to be transferred to a 24-hour emergency care facility.

Once admitted, we paid nearly $5,000 just to give Bronx a fighting chance. Not long after, the doctor called and said he would need a plasma transfusion—an additional and urgent cost we didn’t hesitate to approve.

Bronx started showing small signs of improvement. But this morning, June 30th, we got another heartbreaking call. His red blood cell count dropped again. Now, he needs a blood transfusion and more days in the hospital, which will raise the cost significantly.

Bronx is so loved. We just want to do everything we can to give him the care he needs and the best shot at life. If you’ve ever loved a pet, you know how much they become part of your family—fast.
