Hello, my name is Jessie Boundry. I am reaching out not only as a mother, but as a mother living every parent’s worst nightmare. In the early hours of Sunday, 7th December 2025, my 18-year-old son, Bron, was the victim of a senseless and unprovoked stabbing.

Bron had been out celebrating his cousin’s 18th birthday—an innocent night that should have been filled with joy, laughter, and love. Instead, it became a moment that shattered our world. He was attacked without warning, and the blade missed his heart by only millimetres, puncturing his lung and leaving him fighting for his life.

He was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital, where doctors and nurses worked desperately to save him. Tubes were placed into his lung to help him breathe and drain the blood and fluid that were threatening his life. I stood by, watching my son in pain, unable to take it away… something no mother should ever have to witness. We are so grateful to the medical staff who acted with such urgency, compassion, and care.

Who Bron Is

Bron is a gentle, kind, and friendly young man with a heart far bigger than his 18 years. He has always been surrounded by friends because people naturally gravitate to his warmth and humour.

At home, he is the big brother every child dreams of. He never hesitates to get down on the floor to play games, to make his younger siblings laugh, or to comfort them when they’re sad. They adore him. He is their hero.

Bron was on a path of growth and self-improvement, looking toward a future filled with promise. But this brutal attack has paused his dreams and forced him into a battle he never asked for—a fight to heal, to rebuild, and to feel safe again.

Where We Are Now

Although Bron is now in a stable condition, our journey is only just beginning. When he comes home, the reality of what he’s been through will settle in.

Physically, Bron will need to:

• Rebuild strength in his left arm

• Attend constant medical appointments

• Undergo physiotherapy to regain mobility and function

Emotionally, the wounds run even deeper:

• He now struggles with fear and anxiety that were never part of his life before

• Loud noises, strangers, and crowds send him into panic

• His sleep is interrupted by fear and painful memories

• He will require trauma therapy to slowly piece back his sense of safety

This attack didn’t just injure Bron’s body. It stole the sense of peace and stability that every young person deserves.

How This Has Impacted Our Family

Bron is one of seven siblings, and this trauma has rocked our entire family. His brothers and sisters are heartbroken and scared. The three youngest children, especially, cannot understand why someone would hurt their big brother—their protector, their best friend.

They are experiencing:

• Deep fear for Bron’s safety

• Anxiety and clinginess because home no longer feels as safe as before

• Sleepless nights filled with worry

• The emotional shock of seeing their mum overwhelmed and their family shaken

This attack didn’t just hurt Bron. It struck at the heart of our family, leaving cracks that will take time and support to heal.

Why We’re Asking for Help

We are doing everything we can for Bron, but the financial strain is heavier than we can manage alone. Your support will help us afford the essentials of Bron’s recovery:

• Physiotherapy and long-term physical rehabilitation

• Counselling and trauma therapy

• Transport to and from medical appointments

• Support at home while we adjust, stabilise, and help Bron regain independence

As a mother, watching your child hurt like this is a pain that fractures your soul. I am doing my best to stay strong for all seven of my children, but this has been the most terrifying and heartbreaking experience of our lives.
