Help Brody Thrive: Overcoming Medical Challenges

Hello, my name is Tiffany. I am Brody’s mom. Brody is 4 months old. He was born at just 34 weeks due to me being diagnosed with preeclampsia. Brody stayed in the NICU for two weeks before going home. However, things still weren’t clear after getting home. Brody has been hospitalized almost his entire 4 months of life since being discharged from the NICU to go home. He was diagnosed with a lot of bronchiolitis, upper respiratory problems, which then led us to the diagnosis of Oropharyngeal dysphagia (aspirating), chronic lung disease, a PFO, Coarctation of the aorta, and narrowing of the airway due to being intubated as a newborn preemie. He has been having problems maintaining his weight since being put on thickened liquids, which has landed us back in the hospital. He currently has a NG tube to help get him the nutrition he needs to grow.

I myself have been out of work and staying in the hospital the whole time with him while dad works. However, one income for all of us (5) and (6) every other weekend unfortunately isn’t cutting it. I am not usually one to reach out and ask for help, but at this time it’s our last option to stay afloat between medical bills, bills, just basic needs for our other children, and gas to get to and from the hospital (South Bend), doctor visits in South Bend, and just to survive. I had gone back to work for a week and then ended back in the hospital with Brody. No income has started coming in due to having to be back in the hospital with Brody. At this time, we just ask if you can’t help to please share Brody’s story.
