Help Brody Fight Bone Cancer

My greyhound, Brody, has been my constant companion and best bud for the past six years. However, this last week the vet confirmed that his recent limping is due to bone cancer, osteosarcoma. Tumors were found in his rear left leg. We also got an X-ray of his chest, but no visible sign of cancer there yet.

The recommendation is to amputate the affected leg and to start chemotherapy, or to put him down. Either way the decision has to come soon because the cancer weakens the bone and there is a risk of sudden breakage. The estimate for the amputation alone is $6400 - $8000, and then $1000 for each of four rounds of chemo. Luckily, I do have pet insurance, but past the deductible they only cover 80% of the cost. Unfortunately, I have only a meager day job as I have yet to secure another game industry career job after the closure of Volition. Even the remaining 20% of the surgery and chemo bills would be devastating to me.
