Help Brodie fight Retinoblastoma

Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

We’re reaching out with heavy hearts and deep hope to ask for your support for a brave little boy named Brodie, who was recently diagnosed with retinoblastoma, which is a very rare and aggressive form of eye cancer.

At just 3 years old, Brodie is now facing the fight of his life after he was diagnosed last week with a Grade D tumor in his right eye, Stage 2 cancer. He has since undergone his first round of intra-arterial chemotherapy in Toronto. This specialized treatment offers the best chance to save his eye, preserve what vision may remain, and most importantly, save his life.

If you know Brodie, you know he is tough. He’s a fighter, full of joy, laughter, and an energy that lights up every room. He brings happiness to those he meets, even now, in the middle of one of the hardest battles anyone could imagine.

Unfortunately, the hospital stays have been very difficult for him. It's a lot for a young child to go through. Despite the pain and fear, Brodie is doing his best to stay strong along with the support of his loving family and the medical teams involved in his treatment.

Why We Need Your Help

Brodie and his family live in Manitoba, but his treatment requires frequent travel to Toronto. He will be going for treatment every 3 to 4 weeks for the next 1.5 to 2 years. While Manitoba Health covers the cost of flights for Brodie and one parent, it does not cover:

Flight for a second parent or caregiver

Hotel stays

Transportation in Toronto

Meals and daily necessities

Income lost from time off work

On top of all this, Brodie’s parents are juggling the care and emotional well-being of his two siblings, Lila and Huxton, who are being incredibly brave while staying home during treatment trips. They miss their brother deeply and are praying every day for his recovery.
