Hello, my name is Ariel. On April 13th, our nephew Britt was involved in a car accident that left him with multiple life-threatening injuries. He was life-flighted to the medical center and began treatment and has been hospitalized since. He spent the first ten days in the intensive care unit battling with many of his injuries, infections, and recovery from multiple surgeries and remains admitted as he recovers from his latest surgery on his spine. During this time, his parents, Elton and Terri have been by his side and as you would expect, they have incurred some heavy expenses. Food, parking, and travel costs amongst their regular household expenses and bills continue to grow and with Elton being a small business owner and the primary provider for the household, there are no options like paid medical leave available.
