My stepdaughter Britton Garnjost followed her dream 4 years ago and adopted a wild mustang through MYWY, a non profit group that pairs rounded up BLM mustangs with young and aspiring trainers. Make no mistake, that dream cost her a lot of money to get that pony and then transport her from Seattle to New Jersey. This is my grand pony and her baby and we love Kairus so very much. She is a very special horse. She is the most affectionate horse I have ever met and so gentle. She makes everyone she meets feel special.
From the first day, Britt has been completely committed to providing her baby with the best life possible. She has worked with Kai practically everyday to learn the skills needed to be a riding horse and solid citizen. Kairus has been taught to perform tricks at liberty, jump, trail ride, and basic dressage. She seems to have infinite patience with novice horse people and loves attention from everyone.
Six months ago Britt noticed that Kai was not responding normally to her and got the most devastating news. Kairus has a neurological disease. This diagnosis came after months of highly expensive testing. Now even more expenses are piling up as Britt is working with Vets, physical therapists, and any expert she can find to help figure out what they can do to help her baby.
Britton is a high school art teacher in the Trenton school district. She has a limited salary and resources to do what is necessary to help her horse live the best life she can. She loves this horse as she would her own child and wants to do whatever is necessary to help her baby.
Please do what you can to help Britt pay for the expensive vet bills and the treatment that Kairus needs.
With gratitude the Garnjost Family
