I am reaching out for help during one of the most difficult times in my life. Recently, I was wrongfully pulled over for suspicion of prostitution and arrested, even though I have never been involved in anything like that. The situation was terrifying—a man approached me, wouldn’t let me close my car door, and insisted I follow him. I only agreed because I was scared and hoped to get away and find safety at my mom’s house. Before I could, the police pulled me over, and the man who had frightened me stopped too, which makes me believe he may have been a police officer. This experience has been especially traumatic for me because I have been chased and sexually assaulted in the past, and now I am facing legal trouble for something I did not do.

I am a mom doing my best to provide for my family, but right now I am struggling to afford both an attorney and a safe place to live. Any money raised will go directly toward legal fees, housing, and basic necessities for myself and my child. I am doing everything I can to get through this, but I can’t do it alone.
