This morning, our family experienced a devastating loss when my grandmother’s house burned down. My papaw, who is elderly and struggling with his health, lived there along with my little cousin, aunt, and uncle. In a matter of hours, they lost everything they owned. The shock and heartbreak are overwhelming, especially knowing how much my papaw depends on the comfort and safety of his home. My little cousin, who is mentally disabled, is also struggling to understand what has happened, and it’s been incredibly hard on all of us to see our loved ones in such distress.

We are now trying to find a way forward. The funds raised will go directly toward helping my family secure temporary housing, provide food and clothing, and hopefully bring a little bit of Christmas joy to my cousin during this difficult time. Every dollar will help us rebuild and give my family some stability as we figure out the next steps. Your support will mean the world to us, especially as we try to care for my papaw’s health and help my cousin feel safe again.
