Update, in Brittany’s own words
Well guys it’s been two months since my heart surgery and I’m doing much better! This event in my life has completely changed me. It’s like I have a second chance at life and I now realize how fragile life truly is. I’m actually truly thankful for this event happening because, it has brought me closer to Christ, it has brought my family much closer together, and it has given me a new outlook on everything. I wish I could say I survived because I’m so tough and I fought through but the truth is I thought I was laying on my deathbed. I have come to realize everyone’s time is limited and you have no control over if you live or die. Psalms 23:4

Up until July 22, 2019, Brittany Northway was a vibrant 27 year old woman, working hard as restaurant leader at a Chick-fil-A , on her path to store management. She was a regular at the gym to keep herself in great shape ...a hard working healthy person like many of us reading this. THEN.... life quickly changed.
After having flu-like symptoms for a week or so, she started experiencing shortness of breath also. She went to her doctor who immediately sent her to the emergency room at Temecula Valley Hospital. From there she was placed in ICU and after testing found a heart valve malfunction requiring open heart surgery.
The surgeons found a massive infection in her heart which had damaged significant portions of her mitral valve. Unfortunately, due to the extensive infection, valve replacement was not possible and repairs were made that hopefully will suffice. The major obstacle at present is to control and cure the infection which may be bacterial or viral and at this moment is unknown in extent or origin.
Brittany will not be able to return to work for at least 3 months and this will add to the financial burden caused by the illness. While she has health insurance, it does not cover all of the many hundreds of thousands in charges already incurred. As most 27 year old people, she still has school loans, car payments and other expenses to manage.
This fund has been created to help defray Brittany's expenses and allow her to focus on healing and recovering without worrying about how she will recover financially. Her family and friends are organizing this fundraiser to reach out to you for HELP. When we all pull together, the burden is far less.
