Hi friends, family, dog lovers, and kind strangers,
I’m writing this with a lot of love and a little bit of fear. My 8-year-old dog — my best friend, my ride-or-die, the actual love of my life — needs urgent dental surgery that we can’t afford on our own right now. We’re facing a vet bill of $5,273 for oral surgery to remove some (or possibly all ) of her teeth due to advanced dental disease that are causing her pain and putting her health at risk.
This dog… where do I even begin? She’s been there for me through everything. My darkest days, heartbreaks, healing, growth — she’s been my second half, my emotional support, and honestly, my reason to keep going. I owe her more than words can express, and now it’s my turn to fight for her health and happiness.
She deserves a long, pain-free, joyful life filled with belly rubs, naps in the sunshine, blueberry facials, walks in her stroller, and all the treats she can gum to her heart’s desire. I joke that I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her healthy until someone invents the miracle drug that lets dogs live forever — but really, I would.
Why we need help:
My husband and I were recently married and are navigating immigration paperwork, which is expensive and exhausting (cue mountains of forms and hidden fees). He’s working three jobs. I’m working one (while looking for a weekend job). We’re doing everything we can, but with no real savings, this surgery just isn’t something we can swing on our own right now — and time is of the essence.
I know this year has been hard for so many, and asking for help isn’t easy — but if you’re able to donate anything, even $5, it would mean the world to us. Every dollar brings us closer to giving her the care she needs. And I pinky promise to pay you back in adorable updates, pictures of her silly little tongue poking out of her toothless mouth, and all the warm fuzzies.
If you’ve ever loved a pet like family, you know.
They give us everything, unconditionally. And now I’m doing everything I can to give her that back.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, sharing, donating, and loving animals the way you do.
With love (and soon, a very gummy dog grin),
Brittany, Pankaj & Eloise
