Our dear friend Brittany was diagnosed with primary mediastinal B cell lymphoma in November 2020. She was taken to Stanford where they found a large tumor in her chest pushing on her heart, lungs and blood supply. Brittany is an adventurous nerd. She loves hiking, taking her dogs to the beach, listening to podcasts, reading physiology books and hashing out the latest and greatest movies and songs with friends. She loves eating Rob’s scrumptious cooking and enjoys lounging outside while her hubby gardens. Anyone that knows Brittany will agree that she has a huge heart and will go the extra mile to help those in need. She has an infectious smile that lights up any room. She genuinely cares for others and it shows at work.
Brittany has demonstrated courage and bravery during all the testing that she has endured these past few weeks. She started her first round of aggressive chemotherapy at Stanford and will be continuing to travel down every three weeks for the next six months. The round trip takes 12 hours, and they will need to arrange lodging each time they travel south. Her recent diagnosis has pulled her away from working as an outpatient physical therapist and her patients and coworkers greatly miss her. Her loving husband Rob will be missing some work to care for Brittany during this time. Medical bills and travel expenses continue to accrue as she fights this battle. Without a doubt she will kick cancer’s butt, but it would be helpful for all of us to lend a helping hand. Monetary donations will be used for medical expenses and travel costs. Brittany and Rob are forever grateful for the love and support during this difficult time.
