Hi friends,
My name is Brittany, and I’m the baker behind Dixie Dough Bread. What started as a way to heal has become my passion and purpose — sharing homemade bread baked with love, faith, and gratitude.
After losing our daughter two years ago, I found peace in baking. It became my therapy — a way to grieve, to create, and to pour love into something that could bring comfort to others. Over time, that love grew into Dixie Dough Bread, a dream built one loaf at a time right from my home kitchen.
Recently, our family has faced another life-changing chapter. Ted was in a traumatic motorcycle accident. It’s brought many emotions and challenges, but also a reminder of what truly matters: family, grace, and the strength to keep going. As he continues his long road to recovery, I’ll be traveling regularly with our daughter, Haddie, so she can visit her dad and support him through this time.
Between caring for my family, traveling for visits, and continuing to bake, I’ve reached a point where my small home oven just can’t keep up. I’m raising funds to purchase a commercial oven, which will allow me to bake more efficiently, grow Dixie Dough Bread, and provide more stability for our family during this season. This oven isn’t just a piece of equipment — it’s a step toward building a sustainable future, allowing me to support my children, continue traveling for Haddie’s visits, and even help Ted with transportation once he’s able.
Every bit of support — whether through donations, sharing this post, or keeping us in your prayers — means more than I can express.
From my heart to yours, thank you for believing in me and for helping Dixie Dough Bread rise. ❤️
With love and gratitude,
Brittany Hartwell
