For those who don’t know me, my name Ryan and I am Brittany Bratton’s friend, and also her boss. I’ve created this go fund me because Brittany could really use a blessing. She’s a strong woman whom is respected by all her peers and loved by those she takes care of. From the people, to her furry friends, she is is the kind of person who does everything with love and puts them before herself.

Recently Brittany came up on some really tuff and scary times. Last week doctors discovered she was in heart failure. But before I get to that part, let’s back up so you can understand the synchrony of events and why she could use a little love from the humanitarians of the world.

The first trip to the hospital was a couple of months ago when she her broken foot. She came back in a cast and a hospital bill. Mind you, Brittany is uninsured. Within days of that she came down with a really really bad chest infection. So bad, that due to the way she was standing on her boot and coughing, she found herself back at the ER from coughing her tail bone out of alignment. Another lovely hospital bill along with a new obstacle at work. At that point she couldn’t sit or stand, or control her coughing. She was just leaning against her grooming table coughing her stomach out. I have never seen a soul try to work so hard. Unfortunately she didn’t have a choice. It was one of those moments I witnessed true strength and character. But it didn’t stop there. No, soon the chest infection led to something else, something much worse. That’s when the vomiting started. She was unable to breathe. Finally unable to carry on, Brittany found herself back in the hospital. Apparently the virus she was dealing with had turned into a bacterial infection in her blood. At that point they administered antibiotics to stop the threat the bacteria posed to her vital organs. After her release the throwing up continued. She tried to work with everything she had. Still unable to breath she returned to the hospital. They believed the bacteria had attacked her stomach and esophagus. They told her it would take time to heal. It continued on for a month or so at which point she was finally referred to a specialist. The gastric specialist said it was not her stomach, they believed it was her heart. That night Brittany went home discouraged. It was that evening she found her blood pressure and her heart rate at an alarming level. Again she returned to the ER and this time was admitted to the cardiac unit. Her heart was enlarged four times the normal size. It was filled with ruffly 12lbs of liquid and operating at a very low rate. She couldn’t breathe because her heart was squashing her esophagus. Though she responded positively in many ways to the treatments her heart was still operating at a very low level. They were preparing to operate to see the cause but after several days they decided they saw enough improvement to avoid putting a catheter in her heart to have a better look. They speculate the bacteria in her blood got to an already troubled heart. Unfortunately her father had his first heart attack in his early 30’s, a double bypass in his early 40’s, and passed away in his early 50’s. Her mother wore a pacemaker, and that is all she knows about that. It’s safe to say at 34 a lot of the cause is genetic.

She has been released and has 2 pills that cost 600 a month along with a handful of others. No telling what all these bills add up to be. At 34 She no longer has her parents. No real family. Right now she is having a hard time in out patient. They are adjusting her meds, and she has been throwing up ever since. She is wearing a cardiac vest and going to Emory daily. She is not out of the woods. Until she adjusts to her medication we aren’t sure what is going on. They have mentioned surgeries as options, including a heat transplant. Meanwhile her hope is that she can get back to work because she has bills to pay. She actually told me she should be back Thursday. The truth is she really needs to work because she has bills, and dogs, and many other responsibilities.

As her boss I can attest I’ve never seen a girl try so hard. When I hear her say I’m coming back soon I think I can’t let her do such a strenuous activity in good conscience. I just want her to be able to rest, just one month. Her job is safe. There’s no way she could ever get the money for all the medical bills. She tried to work through all this, she had no choice and she never got to rest. If anything working so hard and not resting is the reason this has gotten so far out of hand. She has to rest NOW.

I know people love her as much as she has loved them. That’s why I’m doing this. I’ve created “The Let Brittany Rest Fund” Because a heart like hers deserves a blessing, hope, and a little love from the universe. We just pray she can recover and live a healthy life. If you are looking to do a good deed for beautiful soul, feel free to contribute or share with those who would. It doesn’t matter how much. We just want to see her healthy and happy again. We just want to give her a chance to rest. The last thing she needs to be doing is worrying right now. Prayers are also welcome.

thank you for reading and any good deeds in advance
