Hello everyone,

This is really hard for me to share, but I’m reaching out because I need some help. I recently suffered a concussion while working at Merry Maids. I was mopping a floor when I bent down and, upon standing, accidentally hit my head on a log staircase behind me. Since then, I’ve been experiencing significant difficulties that have forced my doctor to order me off work for at least 10 days — and possibly longer as I have upcoming CT scans and X-rays.

As a single mom of three wonderful kids (ages 13, 11, and 8), this injury has been especially challenging. With school starting soon on the 28th, the timing couldn’t be tougher. I’m responsible for their care and well-being every day, and my usual income has suddenly stopped.

I’m a hardworking woman who has always juggled multiple jobs, alongside running my fiber art business where I sell at our local Pybus Public Market every weekend and the Roslyn Farmers Market. This injury has taken all of that from me for now.

My workers’ compensation claim is in process, but the wage replacement benefits haven’t started yet. I’m asking for help to cover a month’s rent, utilities, and groceries — about $2,545 — so I can focus on healing and keeping my family safe and stable during this difficult time.
