Help BritnnyX, a Queer Refugee, Escape Starvation and Violen

Hi, my name is Isack and I’m organizing this fundraiser for my friend BritnnyX, a courageous queer refugee, and three other LGBTQ+ refugees who are currently in urgent danger. I met BritnnyX in 2019 while we were both in Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya. I was later resettled to the U.S., but she and others remained behind and their struggle for survival has only grown more desperate.

BritnnyX and her companions fled Uganda after suffering violent attacks simply for being queer. Being LGBTQ+ in Uganda means living in constant fear of arrest, abuse, or even death. They ran to Kenya for safety, but Kakuma Refugee Camp turned out to be just as unsafe. They faced repeated beatings, threats, and discrimination not from strangers, but often from within the camp itself.

In early 2024, they fled again to a neighboring country, hoping for peace but what they found was even worse. The country is torn apart by civil war, and anti-LGBTQ+ violence is widespread and unpunished. Their basic human needs are being denied.

Now, they’re being forced by the government to leave the refugee camp and move into the city, with no food, no shelter, no money, and no protection.

They are four vulnerable queer individuals, trapped in a hostile place where their identities put them in daily danger. They don’t know where their next meal will come from. They drink unsafe water. They have no roof over their heads. They are sick, hungry, and scared every day.

HOW YOUR DONATION WILL HELP BRITNNYX AND HER GROUP:

Clean Water – To purchase safe drinking water and avoid waterborne illnesses.

Food – To buy daily food for survival. Currently, they often go days without eating.

Shelter – To find safe housing and avoid being attacked or abused on the streets.

Medication – To treat infections, pain, and illness in a place with no medical access.

Since GoFundMe doesn’t operate in their country, I will personally send all donations securely to BritnnyX via a trusted and fast mobile money service. Every dollar will go directly to these four queer refugees who have nowhere else to turn.
