A week ago today, I experienced the most horrific traumatic event of my life. First, let me start off by saying, I have 3 dogs who all get along. Hope is my German-Aussie mix-she's 6; Coco-my terrier mix, I got last year- he's 1 year old; and Britney, my first fur baby, she's a Maltese-Shih Tzu and she's 10. I was feeding them like I normally do, but this time Britney passed by Hope's bowl and apparently sniffed too long. Hope snapped at her and she got injured. I remember yelling, "Hey! Stop that" (as I was putting Coco's bowl down). I walked over to where Hope and Britney were but did not see Britney. I saw two drops of blood near the dining table, thinking Hope probably got her cheek or something. I bent down to see under the table and saw Britney sitting down with her whole right eyeball hanging outside of her face. My heart dropped. Filled with immense and utter shock, I was in disbelief and went into a full-blown panic attack but tried to keep it together because I had to get her to an emergency vet. I called three before one could take her. I don't know how I drove, but shout out to my family who stayed on the phone with me until I got to Access Pasadena. She lost her right eye, but surgery went well and I'm very grateful she is alive. She is doing incredibly well (better than me, ha). However, there is a financial burden that comes with this sort of freak accident. Any amount would be greatly appreciated at this time. Thank you for all the messages, calls, and prayers. They are much needed! xox Marina
