My name is Britney, and I am a single mother doing everything I can to keep my children safe and housed during the hardest time of our lives. I recently went through a traumatic pregnancy with twins, and heartbreakingly, I lost one of my babies. During the pregnancy, I developed severe kidney stones that required three surgeries and left me in unbearable pain. The complications caused me to deliver my surviving baby at just 32 weeks, and he spent over a month in the NICU. I brought him home only after learning how to replace his feeding tube myself. Thankfully, he is now breastfeeding and doing well.

But my own health has continued to decline. I am still in constant, severe pain every day. My doctors discovered that nerve damage from the surgeries is causing the pain, and simple things like walking, sitting, or standing have become extremely difficult. I now rely on a walker and need help with daily tasks and caring for my children. I have been told that this pain will be lifelong, and I am currently unable to work.

Because of this, I have no income at all, and I am now facing immediate eviction. My rent is due, and I have no way to pay it. I have two small children depending on me, and I am terrified because I truly do not know what I will do or where we will go if we lose our home. I have applied for every form of assistance available, and while some programs have helped, it is not enough to keep us housed.

I am humbly asking for help with rent, basic living expenses, transportation to medical appointments, and essentials for my children like diapers, wipes, and other necessities. Any support — no matter the amount — would mean the world to us. Your kindness could be the reason my children and I are able to stay in our home while I continue searching for medical answers and healing.
