Hello Everyone! Britlynn and I have never thought we would be in a position to ask for help from friends and family, but we are now in that situation! Earlier in January Brit went to a Dermatologist to have a mole looked at. They then biopsied it and we were very unprepared for the results. They have now confirmed, at least, a stage 2 Melanoma. Everything started moving very quickly after that result. We were referred to a surgeon for extraction, and to oncology for follow up.

This Friday 2/6, Brit will undergo surgery to have the Melanoma removed. They have to remove roughly 2cm in a circle around the mole, then take skin from her lower arm to create a skin flap. She will also have to undergo sentinel lymph node biopsies in her chest, arm, and neck to see if it has metastasized. She will also have 2 other suspicious moles removed as a precaution. If it has metastasized she will have to undergo a PET scan and Immunotherapy.

Following surgery she will have to do genetic testing, which is likely not covered by insurance, as it is unusual for someone so young to have a melanoma, and she has a strong family history of cancer, including her mom who had Lung and Ovarian cancer in her 30s.

Following this terrible news, the following day she was informed that she would no longer be able to work from home from her employer, which will cause a lack of income while undergoing treatment. She also cares for our 2 year old son, and watches another mom's 2 year old son. She will be restricted to lifting over 15lbs for a month. This will make caring for the 2 boys exceptionally hard.

This is an extremely nerve-wracking period for our entire family. Any support whether that be through donations, sharing our story, or even kind words of support would truly mean more to us than we could ever express.

Thank you for reading and any support you may offer!
