I’d like to introduce you to an incredible woman—an amazing mama, a loyal friend, huge heart, fierce strength, and yes… she has a signature RBF
But most of us know her as living proof of how strong a mother’s heart can be and what true resilience really looks like.
This is Brittany. She works at the CDC aboard Camp Lejeune as the director, balancing her career while also pouring love into her family and even running a few crafty side hustles on the side. She raised an amazing son who is now grown and thriving.
Then, 18 years later, life surprised her with another blessing—a baby girl, Maggie
In that moment, I truly believe she found a whole new purpose, a new “why,” and a deeper reason to fight for more out of life.
Then came another surprise—another beautiful baby girl, Emmie.
And let me tell you, Emmie came into this world fighting.
She was born at just 33 weeks after being warned there would be severe complications, and doctors prepared Brittany for the worst. They warned her that Emmie might not make it, that Brittany herself could face serious risks, and that if Emmie survived, major medical challenges could follow.
But Emmie is her mother’s daughter—strong, stubborn, and a fighter. She beat every obstacle thrown at her and is now thriving.
That meant two babies under two, with Brittany splitting her time between Maggie at home and Emmie in the hospital, all while carrying herself with grace, strength, and determination. No matter how hard it got, she kept showing up for her girls.
At the same time, Brittany was battling her own health issues due to be diagnosed while pregnant, with cirrhosis of the liver caused by undiagnosed autoimmune hepatitis.
As if that wasn’t enough, just a year later, she was hit with devastating news—not just one but TWO different type’s of aggressive stage 4 cancers.
Doctors found three tumors in her colon, one blocking her cecum and breaking through her colon wall. They also found three tumors in her liver, along with another area requiring biopsies.
This past Friday, Brittany had to undergo emergency surgery after her appendix ruptured, causing even more strain and pushing her liver further into failure.
The surgery was incredibly dangerous, but she came out of it fighting—because that’s who she is.
They successfully removed the three tumors in her colon along with part of her colon. Now the focus is recovery, keeping her strong enough for treatment on the cancer in her liver, and hopefully preparing her body for a liver transplant.
She is taking all of her leave just to recover and try to still be the mother her children need—but the truth is, life doesn’t stop because tragedy happens. Bills don’t stop. Rent doesn’t stop. Groceries don’t stop. Her babies still need their mama, and they still need support.
I know this is long, but her story deserves to be told.
Because when you hear everything she has survived, you realize just how much these girls are fighting for—their future, their peace, and the chance to keep their mama here with them.
So today, I’m asking all the mamas, anyone who loves their mother, anyone with a heart for family—please come together for Britany.
Please pray.
Please share.
Please donate if you can.
Even the smallest amount helps.
She has a small but loving village, but right now she needs more—and I truly believe we can be that village.
Let’s help take one burden off her shoulders so she can focus on healing, loving her girls, and fighting this battle.
Let’s remind her she is not fighting alone.
