Hi! We are John Stavens and Wendy Adams, and we are the advisors for the Bristol Eastern Model United Nations Club. Our club has been active for several years, and one of our goals is to attend the International Model U.N. Conference in NYC in March 2025. At the conference, the students will have an opportunity to debate topics that relate to issues faced by countries around the world. In preparation for the conference, the students write research papers and prepare for their debate sessions. This conference is like no other offered around Bristol. Students from all over the world come to compete with other schools to have their issue papers moved forward to be voted on as resolutions.

The funds will be used to help pay for our costs associated with the trip. This will be our third trip to the Model UN Conference, and while we typically go every other year, a group of seniors approached us and asked if they could fundraise to attend again this year. Last year's experience was monumental for this group; they got to meet students from all over the world and participate in diplomatic debate to solve world issues.

Registration and hotel costs for 10 students are a little over $6,000. The upperclassmen we are taking this year are committed to fundraising and attending the conference this year because of the experience they had last year, so every donation really will help these students have another life-changing experience.
