Help Bri’s Grandma Afford Medical Expenses - Please Read

To start off, my mother went to work on 4/20/24 feeling a little under the weather. During her shift, and by morning, she had a fever and her cough had worsened. Come that weekend, she was taken to the ER due to an 86% oxygen stat. She was then admitted, and as the main source of income for the household, was put out of work.

Unfortunately, a couple nights following, while my mother is still admitted, my grandmother needed to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance in the middle of the night. At the hospital, she was declining with her breathing very quickly. By the grace of God, the hospital was able to avoid the ICU with a ton of medications and treatments.

My grandmother was admitted and my mom came home, still very ill, and put out of work for at least a whole month. My mother also has a long health journey ahead of her. My grandmother was then sent to a rehab facility to stabilize her health and to learn how to now live with an oxygen tank.

The viral lung infection, pneumonia and RSV, that spread through the entire household hit my grandmother the worst. It really flared her COPD. Thankfully, she is now home. But - she is now using an oxygen tank for the rest of her life. To better assist her comfort, she NEEDS a hospital bed in order to sleep on an incline to maintain a higher oxygen level. Nurses and doctors are in and out of their home daily. Doctor appointments are frequent and she can’t be left alone. Bills are piling up.

Even with health care, costs for everything my grandmother needs, is approximately quoted $12,000. In this economy, as well as the whole household being out of work, we all unfortunately can not afford this right now. Our first priority is our grandmother’s health and comfort through this terrifying experience she is going through. Our last resort is to ask for donations from our friends and community.
