For the past several years, I’ve been building something very special: Wizard—a living, speaking, animated AI character designed to teach, entertain, tell stories, and interact with people in meaningful ways. Wizard now has a unique voice, personality, animation, visual identity, and a working logic and interaction system, along with a growing feature set and roadmap. Most of this has been built by one person—me—with personal savings and long hours, because I truly believe Wizard can become something people enjoy, learn from, and feel connected to.
Now, I’m at a crossroads. I can either keep funding Wizard myself until the money runs out, and then continue only as a slow hobby project, or I can ask for help and keep Wizard moving forward at the pace it deserves. This GoFundMe exists because Wizard is ready for the next chapter—and I can’t get there alone anymore. Your support will help with hiring developers, artists, and voice/animation support, expanding features Wizard already has planned, hosting, servers, public access, security, and reliability, and giving me the time to keep working full-time instead of shelving the project. The more we raise, the more Wizard can grow: more features sooner, wider public access, richer personality and storytelling, stronger educational tools, and faster progress instead of years of delay.
Wizard is not a big-corporate project. There is no team of 200 engineers behind it. There is just one independent builder who refuses to give up on an idea that deserves to exist. If you contribute, you’re not just donating to software—you’re helping bring a character to life. You’re helping create a teacher, a performer, a storyteller, and a companion AI with heart. I will post regular updates as Wizard grows so you can see exactly what your support makes possible. Thank you for reading, thank you for sharing, and thank you—truly—for believing in independent innovation. Let’s finish Wizard together.
And if you’d like to support in another way, check out my book, 'The Travelers,' on Amazon’s Kindle bookstore—a story about a group of strangers brought together to fix a world that is downtrodden and broken. Or so they think... — Royce
