My name is Jaime Lopez Gomez, and I am proud to be the son of an immigrant, William Lopez.
Around 5:30 in the morning, my father was on his way to work when his life suddenly took an unexpected turn. ICE agents noticed his car and pulled him over at the corner of Burlingame and Chicago Drive. As soon as he realized they were ICE agents, my father texted my mom. In that moment, the fear my mother has carried since coming to the United States became a reality.
My father is a wonderful man. Those who know him describe him as funny, caring, and a gentle soul. He is a strong believer in God and has caused no trouble during his time in the United States. He has always paid his taxes, shown up to work on time, helped those in need, and faithfully served in church to honor God.
We are a family of seven, four sons and one daughter. Watching his children grow has been my father’s greatest achievement. Growing up, we faced many struggles. There were times we couldn’t afford school lunches or groceries, but because of my father’s hard work, we were never left hungry.
Today, I am asking for help to raise money for a lawyer so we can fight to bring my father home. I place everything in God’s hands and trust Him to guide us through this difficult time. I also humbly ask for your support. Any help whether through donations, sharing this story, spreading the word, or offering a prayer would mean more to us than words can express.
Thank you all. May God bless you.
With love,
The Lopez Family and Jaime
