Help Bring VisorTwins to Drivers and Front Passengers Around the World
Have you ever struggled with constantly flipping your car visor between the windshield and the side window while driving on a sunny day? You’re not alone — and that’s exactly why I created VisorTwins.
What is VisorTwins?
VisorTwins is a clip-on pair of tinted visors that attach to your car's built-in visor. It provides extended protection from harsh sunlight and dangerous UV rays — without the hassle of repositioning your visor again and again.
It’s especially helpful during sunrise and sunset, when glare can hit you straight in the face and make driving unsafe — even with sunglasses on.
The Competition
The only products available right now are ones that block sunlight coming through the windshield. If you look online for "extended car visor" or "clip-on car visor", this is what you will typically see:

This existing product protects you only from glaring sunlight coming through the windshield. It offers no protection from UV rays coming through the door window. On the other hand, VisorTwins, offers protection from sunlight coming from the FRONT and the SIDE.
About Me
Hi, I’m Patrick Pernia, an inventor based in San Jose, California. Like many of you, I was tired of battling the sun while trying to focus on the road. That’s what inspired me to create VisorTwins.
I’ve already filed a U.S. patent application (Patent Pending No. 19/012,527), and I’m now seeking support to take VisorTwins to the next level.
Why I'm Launching This Campaign
I have two big goals, and I’d love your help to reach them:
1. Get VisorTwins Licensed and Manufactured
I’m looking for a company to license and produce VisorTwins. The more support this campaign gets, the more interest it will attract from potential partners — and the closer we get to seeing VisorTwins in cars around the world.
2. Secure Global Patent Protection
To bring VisorTwins to international markets and protect it from copycats, I need to file patents in key countries and regions.
In the meantime, I’m aiming to raise $10,000 to file a PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) application in the United States by October 1, 2025. Filing a PCT application secures my priority rights to pursue patent protection in other countries for up to 18 months. In practical terms, it means that once I’ve filed under the PCT, no one else can file for the same invention in other countries during that period—giving me crucial time to seek international protection and investment.
How You Can Help
If you’ve ever been blinded by the sun while driving, or just want to support a practical, safety-focused innovation, please consider donating. Every dollar makes a difference, and your support helps bring VisorTwins one step closer to reality.
Thank you so much for your time, support, and for driving safely.

Pictured above is the VisorTwins prototype configured for the front passenger. Since the board and the side visor are detachable, VisorTwins can easily be switched between the driver and front passenger side.

VisorTwins can easily be clipped on to the existing car visor of either the driver or front passenger.
