Help Bring Umit Pamuk Home for Burial

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Umit Pamuk. He left us on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Umit was only 39 years old. Originally from Turkey, Umit came from a humble, hardworking family. With the loss of both parents and a heavy responsibility to support his siblings, Umit made the brave decision to leave everything behind and move to the United States in search of a better life. As a dedicated truck driver, he worked tirelessly, often driving back-to-back deliveries, sacrificing his own health and well-being to provide for his family overseas. Despite the hardship of living in his truck to save money, Umit's love for his family never wavered. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, sending whatever he could to support his siblings, who do not have enough money to transport his remains to Turkey. Umit had no known relatives here in the United States and was alone when he passed, found unexpectedly in his truck while waiting to go on a delivery in Longview, Texas. As his friend, I'm heartbroken, and in this moment of grief, on behalf of his family, I'm asking for help. Umit's initial funeral costs are estimated to total $16,000. This includes the funeral home's services and the cost of transporting him to his native Turkey for burial in the presence of his family and friends. We know this is a difficult time for many, but if you can find it in your hearts to donate, we would be incredibly grateful for your generosity. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us cover the costs of Umit's funeral and transportation to Turkey, where he will be laid to rest with his people.
