As many of our friends and family know we’re crazy impulsive when it comes to saving/foster failing dogs (cough Jenn). We got involved with a local rescue that pulls german shepherd’s and mal’s from California since those specific breeds have such high euthanasia numbers there.
Which is where we came across Toffee.
Over Christmas break we watched her, hoping she would be saved as we kept in touch with the shelter to check on her. Something about her reminded us of our Andi girl, so when she was officially put on the euthanasia list we knew we had to save her. We were scrambling with Allies Mission K9 Rescue to find transport from California ASAP, and trying to adopt her. Thankfully a rescue local to California pulled her to safety; We’re in the process of working with them to get her transported here to be a Smith and figured it was worth a shot to raise funds for her transport and vetting. If we miraculously cover her costs, anything extra will be donated to Allies Mission K9 rescue to save more lives.
Anything helps!
