We are working to help bring Sharon Douglas' small school located in Scotts Pass District, Jamaica back to life!
COVID-19 has hit the world in very difficult ways and in order to keep returning students safe and healthy, the Government in Jamaica has requested various upgrades to Kathleen's Angels Miracle Early Childhood Institution in order for it to re-open for the new school season.
The renovations include;
- 1 additional classroom
- 1 additional washroom
- 43 tables and chairs for social distancing
- 1 sick bay
- 1 sanitation area
- 43 sleeping bags
Teaching has always been a passion for Sharon but due to COVID-19 and the financial hardship it has brought to not only herself, but the parents of her school, she cannot complete this work on her own.
Education is extremely important and for this small school of 67 students, 3 teachers, a cook and a janitor, every little bit helps.
As these funds directly benefit Sharon Douglas living in Jamaica, the funds raised from your charitable donations will be either withdrawn directly to an approved banking facility (such as Scotiabank) owned by Sharon Douglas if GoFundMe allows, or will be withdrawn to a local Canadian bank through a relative and transferred directly to Sharon Douglas by other means outside of GoFundMe.
The approved method will be determined once Jamaica exits the 'no movement' order placed in Jamaica and Sharon can get to Scotiabank.
Thank you everyone,
