My name is Evonte Smith, and I’m the creator of the John Wilx: Honeyvale. This is a cinematic story that is connected to a bigger cinematic universe, about memory, truth, loss, and the comforting worlds we sometimes create inside our own minds.
Honeyvale brings back the 1950s style animation that may appear warm, cozy, peaceful, and almost perfect, but beneath that beauty is the story of John Wilx, a man slowly beginning to question whether the world around him is protecting him from the truth—or keeping him trapped inside a version of it.
I am building this project independently as a one-man creative team. I write the story, direct every scene, create the visuals through animation, compose the music, produce the sound design, and edit the final episodes myself. I have also created a website that introduces the world, its purpose, and where the story begins.
This is not simply an idea I hope to start someday. Honeyvale is already being built, scene by scene and proof of concept.
I’m starting this GoFundMe to help cover the parts of production I cannot handle alone, including professional voice actors, animation 3D Assistants, digital assets, storage, and the tools needed to complete and release the next chapter at the strongest quality possible.
My goal is to prove that a powerful cinematic world can begin with one person, one story, and the determination to bring it to life. Every contribution helps move Honeyvale closer to becoming the complete experience I have imagined—and gives this story the opportunity to reach the audience it was created for.
