DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

Not knowing why I was placed for adoption stays present in my heart and mind. Yet, a great gift came from this: a chance for a new life.

I hope this video helps other adoptees, birth parents, adoptive parents and people who live with unresolved feelings around adoption embrace the fact that they are enough.

Repercussions is a music video for anyone who's wrestled with identity, grief or letting go — a story many can see themselves in, even if their path has looked different.

Repercussions tells the story of Evelyn, a woman confronting the memory of giving up her child for adoption 40 years ago. In a surreal and emotional duet she comes face-to-face with her younger self in a dance of reckoning. Through movement, sound and visual storytelling we explore the complex terrain of shame, acceptance and ultimately forgiveness.

At the heart of the video is an original EDM track, a raw and emotional expression of longing, empathy and love from an adoptee to their birth mother.
