Help Bring The "Holy Land" Podcast to Life!

MY STORY

My name is Colin Harden. I am an audio producer, writer and filmmaker from Charlotte NC. While deployed me and my rack mate would imagine horror stories in our tent in Kuwait and this story was inspired by that. While at UNCSA pursuing my MFA I decided to develop this story Holy Land and make it my thesis! I pitched it to my good friend and super talented actor and writer Julian Elijah Martinez, who agreed to produce with me and voice the main character.

THE PROJECT

Holy Land, is a MILITARY HORROR fiction podcast series that follows the leader of an elite special forces unit, a Black Army Captain named John Jordan who gets enlisted to investigate the mysterious activities of a military base in Somalia. He discovers the base has been inhabited by a DEMON who FEEDS on the TRAUMA of its victims. To save his unit and the base’s inhabitants he must first confront his own trauma.

It touches on themes of MASCULINITY, FATHERHOOD but at its core it is an allegory for MILITARY MENTAL HEALTH. As a North Carolina Army National Guard veteran myself who has lost a unit member to suicide, I hope through art to shed light on this very real and timely issue in our society. Through this story, I hope to continue the conversation around men's mental health and encourage a break to the stigma.

THE VISION

Eventually we see this as a 8 episode limited series that follows Captain Jordan find a way through this exciting and thrilling story to face his demons and save his unit.

THE ASK

We want to do this fully independently and pay great voice actors, editors, a composer and really prove that this script penned by the awesome Jake Smith is a hit. We know we'll need a lot of money and resources to do this fully out, but to get started we wanted to ask for support of our close friends and family and those who are just inspired by the project.
