Hi, my name is Sonia, and I'm fundraising to help bring the BreastBuddy UK pilot to life.

Following my breast cancer diagnosis, I was given a treatment plan that helped save my life. For that, I will always be grateful.

But alongside treatment came overwhelm, uncertainty and isolation — experiences that many patients face throughout their cancer journey.

During treatment, I was fortunate to have a close friend diagnosed just days apart from me. We became one another's "Breast Buddies", supporting each other through treatment and recovery, and helping one another feel less alone.

Those experiences inspired BreastBuddy UK.

BreastBuddy UK is a lived experience-led patient wellbeing initiative designed to complement existing clinical care through connection, guidance and community.

The NHS looks after your treatment. BreastBuddy UK supports everything around it.

I'm raising funds to help support the development, testing and preparation of the BreastBuddy UK pilot. The pilot will explore how structured peer support, wellbeing signposting, mentorship and guided support can help reduce isolation, treatment overwhelm and uncertainty whilst strengthening the patient experience between diagnosis, treatment and recovery.

Funds raised will contribute towards platform development, patient testing, research and evaluation activities, and the delivery of the initial pilot programme. As the project evolves, additional fundraising, partnerships and grant opportunities may also be explored to support future growth.

Every donation, no matter how large or small, helps move BreastBuddy UK one step closer to becoming a reality for future patients.
