Help make "THE BOY WHO FELL FROM HEAVEN" : An LGBTQ Film
Donation protected
Hi! I'm Caleb! I'm a 22 year old director raising money for my new short film, "THE BOY WHO FELL FROM HEAVEN".
This film follows a 22-year-old hopeless romantic named ASHER, after a mysterious glowing boy knocks on his window late one night. Believing the boy to be the universe's answer to his prayers for love, Asher begins to fall for him. But just as quickly as he appeared, THE STAR BOY vanishes without a trace. Determined to prove the love affair was real, Asher sets out to find his lost love.
This film draws inspiration from 90's new queer wave films, such as "Nowhere" Directed by Gregg Araki or "Edge of Seventeen" Directed by David Moreton, as well as drawing some inspiration from "Sex and The City". At it's core, this film is about hopeless romanticism and the importance of friendship in the queer community. A lot of the time, queer people's friends become their family: No matter what you're going through, whether it's getting kicked out by your parents or ghosted by a glowing alien boy, they will always be there to bring you back to life.
To make this film the best it can possibly be, we want to be able to feed our cast and crew, as well as have enough lightning equipment to sell our visual effects. Being independent (and thoroughly broke) college students, we decided to turn to our community for help making this dream come true.
Our budget breaks down to five different categories: Food for cast and crew, Production Design/Costuming, Lighting equipment, and intimacy coordination. We've budgeted out our shoot for a crew of eight people and five actors, over the period of three days and plan to film in Early/Middle May. An itemized breakdown is located below so you can see exactly where the money is going!
All donations receive a credit in the film (unless requested otherwise), and any donations over $300 get special access to early cuts of the film and a chance to provide feedback for the final cut.
Our cast and crew love this story, and it would mean the world for you to help us bring it to life!
