Mythology transforms across cultures and time. As these stories are retold, they are re-formed, and it is myth’s transient nature that reflects the beauty and power of the trans community.

My name is Marcel Liemant, and I am fortunate enough to teach a talented pool of trans and gender-diverse writers the art of mythmaking. Over the last few months, we have braved the belly of the whale, retrieved the elixir, and emerged triumphant, with a collection of myths retold through a vibrant trans lens.

From queer and monstrous versions of the Little Mermaid to Arthurian legends of trans knights, our anthology centers and elevates new trans voices. These are stories that celebrate the magic and power of queerness and transness. Stories that need to be told and heard, now more than ever.
